Seattle Municipal Court Marriage Records
Municipal courts in Washington do not have the legal authority to issue marriage licenses. Based on this, there is no official body called the Seattle Municipal Probate Court, nor do Seattle marriage records exist in an administrative or legal sense. Instead, marriage licenses, domestic partnership registrations, and other associated documents are records issued and maintained by the King County Recorder's Office.
In Washington, marriage records are readily accessible public documents, open to anyone regardless of their relationship to the parties involved in the union. These records can be searched through the King County Recorder's Office Online Record Search portal or requested in person at the county courthouse. Furthermore, historical marriage records are often available at the Washington State Digital Archives.
